Quick test of a 3d Subaru Impreza Outback Sport Wagon, along with a couple audio recordings to form a soundtrack for the animation test. I think this rig should work for my Portland International Raceway project.

  • very good job.

1.How long you are modeling already?

2.How did you made engine sound?

  • Thanks, I've been modeling ever since 2002 now when I was at school. Had a very brief intro to 3ds max in 2000 back in high school, but that wasn't really modeling as I'd like to see it

The engine sounds were pieced together from various recordings I'd made on my own (this is actually the car I drive) the other audio such as the tire squeal and environmental audio, and tire crack noises are also all my own. only thing that isn't is the ending which is from an Infected Mushroom song

  • what software are you ussing?

  • 3dsmax and photoshop for the most part. A couple low-end post-production programs too, like SoundForge Studio and some video editor by magix, but forgot the actual name.

  • Great job, I think, however, that the car looks a bit too stiff rolling on the road with the "bumping/crack thumping" sound that I assume it is in the background. Also, why spend all the time rendering and animating an outback? Should have done a STI to match that sound. =)

  • I actually added the noises when it went over certain cracks in the texture.

There's a lot more that I could've done with this animation, but as animation really isn't my path of interest, it was mostly a test of the final look of the video, and a couple art assets that would go into my demo reel.

The outback in this video is the exact same outback I recorded the audio from lol

  • sweet, i drive 05 wrx and just started modeling. i really enjoy it, although i'm beginner.

  • my bro has got one of those, but its a 97

  • awsome

  • that is awesome animation, only thing i have a thing bout, is when the car started, it shock side to side, that car in particular would have a transverse mounted engine, and would, if anything, shake front to back... but it looks amazing!!

  • WoW

  • i have a feeling that was a subaru impreza estate
