This was great. As much as I don't care for current GL, I'm still sad it's going to be no more. It was so good during this time period.

So classy. This makes Guiding Light of today feel sooooo white trashy!

@BenwarrenFan I will! There's another clip uploaded by jenniferrec2003, titled, MALLET COMES HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL, GUIDING LIGHT, FALL 92. Like towards the 2nd half of it, the full song somes on. It's really clear, too!! I hope they will have GL on dvds!!!

@BenWarrenFan hi--sorry never got back to you--must have missed the email. Anyway, yes, I have a good version of Robert Flack and Donnie Hathaway singing this (plus another version of studio singers, but the Flack version is far superior. I like it much better than the one you have too.) I could arrange to burn a CD for you--perhaps discuss a trade of something you have.

This song was also used as the theme for Harley and Mallet when they were a couple in the early 90's.

Hands down, one of the best opening credit sequences ever in the history of soaps.

yeah--my friend worked on the show--so I got cassette copies of the 80's themes as well as ALL the hold on to love versions. By far, the best was the Roberta Flack/Billy Ch??? version! Could have been a single and SHOULD have been the opening of the show in the late 90's (after the uptempo opening of the same melody became a little stale. I think they used it for nearly a decade.) Anyway, I'm in the process of putting all my cassette stuff onto CD. Love to trade stuff-fans have to keep it alive
I really love this song. The best one was sung by Bill Chinnock and Roberta Flack. I was trying to find this song everywhere, but no luck! Does anyone have this song??!!

@McKenna712 If you scroll down, SoapsGoldenAge was saying she does. Maybe shoot her a message and see what you can work out?

I want this on my ipod! Itunes really needs to get it together.

@jezzfan33 Me too; I would love to find it but I've searched to no avail! This is the only clip I've ever found with the lyrics clearly sung through most of it. I still love it!

I have a version of this song sung by Roberta Flack (and a male vocalist--forget name) that is amazing! Should have been the opening theme for that era.

You do? This was the only clip I found with the lyrics. I loved this song, it summed up everything that was GL. I couldn't find it on Itunes at all! Was the song by the same name? Thanks for sharing!
