Woolworths ended it's legendary 99 year run in January 2009. Dean Puckett and Jason Ramasami took to the streets of Brixton to ask people whether it was more than a shop. It was affecting to see the responses. Please comment!

  • Used to live in Fairbairn Road 1972 across from Hamilton pub. Is street and pub still there? shopped at woolworths many times.

  • Thanks for commenting! Unsure about the Pub - have you tried google street view? You would be amazed what that thing picks up. Respect.

  • you didn't use my settings.

  • I couldn't find where to get 60 fps setting in compressor. Sorry...

and damnit i just gotta freakin say, RAMASAMI !!! you were the best teacher at durrington man. you presenting the vid at the start is exactly always how you tought in school. always told a [half] decent story, and always humorous to listen to ! great fucking dude... dont think youd remember me though :D

  • omg..i used 2 live in brixton..siik

  • It's on the internet now, it's an online store!

  • I love it! The old ladies are quality and the guy who says he is devestated and Woolworths is his life cracks me up. Keep em coming Deano. Jason's presenting and interview skills are excellent to.

  • This is an excellent piece of work, presenting a good balanced view, well edited and capturing the essence of thousands of letters and emails received by the Company since the sad news. Woolworths opened in Brixton Road on the other side of the railway on 10 Dec 1910, and traded continuously through two world wars, spanning the reigns of five monarchs. It moved to the landmark Art Deco building in September 1937. What a shame that it could not survive a credit crunch. Brilliant, 10/10.

  • u don't have to use 60fps, u can use 24fps, which is cinema standard or any one you want really, thanks.
