just a relaxing nostalgic tune to one of the funniest shows ever. funny, they did'nt need cussing or sexual inuendo to be funny.

I remember this show on WPIX-TV (channel 11) every New Year's. Channel 11 is a great station and the home for "The Honeymooners". As for the intro, it's a great idea to do a series of episodes entitled "The Honeymooners Intro Bloopers". It's coming to a channel near you. Featuring an on-screen cast from GoAnimate. I'll work on it soon.

I'm doing some family history. I found out one of my great uncles, George Williams helped Gleason. I'm trying to find out more information on what songs they worked on together.

gleason was a bandleader himself. his albums feature dreamy mood music by studio orchestras. in fact, 'lonesome echo' & 'romantic jazz' hit #1 & #2 respectively on the billboard charts in 1955.

I would say the closing theme was more haunting.

Music may have affected me more than it affects others.
Years later I discovered that I am a musician. (classical organist) The parallel harmonies, especially those descending starting at :19, got to me. And still do!

Hi Robert, I know exactly what you mean. We are about the same age - and I always had the same perception. You are the first person I've heard actually express the same thought, exactly. Interesting! (I'm in Canada)

As a 5-year-old, I heard this show airing in the 1950s.
This song always caught my attention and I thought it sounded lonely.
