@nova2029 hell i play Alto and Bari sax and i agree with this, if there is a good player behind it, the Timpani can be the star of the concert.

symphonic is the adjective to a symphony and a symphony is a musical composition that is usually written for orchestras. Symphony music are usually composed of many parts and has different tempos and feels for each individual part.

@GingerJoberton Yea, you could say it's interchangeable. Like our lowest band is named Varisity band since they were named after our Football team. The reason they were named varisity was because our Varisity football team didn't do well the year they were named that. Until they improve our lowest band will be named after them.

Symphonic Orchestra I've heard, but I've never came across a symphonic band - a very interesting term.

@GingerJoberton Symphonic is a very high skilled band. In most cases in some cites it may be just a towns best band or so. For our schools case that's our top level band. It's just a name for a band filled with skilled musicians.
