Teil I / Part I: (excerpt)
1 - Es geht wohl anders, als du meinst: /
All things are thou not as thou dost think:
For while thou smil'st with rosy cheer,
Both spring and sun have vanished hence,
And all the world in darkness swatched;
And scarce shalt thou have wept thy fill,
Than all is laughter, the sun doth shine -
All things are not as thou dost think.
2 -(Tenor solo, later soli and choir)
Why now upon life's resting place
Dost spread thyself so freely?
For soon Death's trumpeter shall call,
And all must leave behind thee.
3 - Orchestra: Death the Postillon
Why now upon life's restign place...
Thank you very much for posting this wonderful piece of romantic music.

Thanks for uploading this. I love this work. It's great to hear a different performance from the one that I have.

Barbra Hölzl, I've heard years a go at the IVC in Den Bosch!
My god her voice evolved.
Never heard this music before, verry nice.
