@talibantelevision SCA costs hundreds of dollars you douche bag. The difference is $450 for basic armor, $200 of which goes toward the helmet versus $20 for a sword. Not to mention if I had that kind of money lying around, I'd buy an actual training sword and learn German fencing. Put your money where your mouth is or step onto the field.

Belegarth is a schism of Dagorhir. On paper they are antagonistic to one another but the rules and swordplay are so similar it's not unusual to see fighters going between the tribes.

@EmperorBonaparte Just for the sake of clarity, I have helped guys get SCA kit together for less that $200, sword included. It takes a lot of work on their part though. They have to be willing to make most of it themselves.

That said, the SCA is not for everyone. It takes a commitment and it can be expensive in ways besides the fighting.

If this is what you enjoy, this is what you should be doing. None of it is worthwhile unless it is fun and enjoyable. More power to you.
