the morning off it i was in the pensylaviana hotel opposite Madison Sq garden. just about to leave with the then girlfriend to get a flight back home to ireland. turned on the tv and watched the second plane hit the towers. totally surreal! i was actually in the towers the day before also even if it was the basement, and have a ticket stub from being up to the top 4 days before hand. So u could say i was extremley fortunate.

yeah, the vid of us shooting the big M249s was that same morning. My Drill Sarg.,distracted by the news himself..wasn't paying attn. and caught shrapnel in his face while changing out one of those gun barrels...It was hiw birthday too.phew.the next morn.I snuck off training base,got past two MP road blocks,went to main post mall and sat w/a cup O'coffee and some "cinni-minnies" and watched CNN.
