Rice University historian Douglas Brinkley appeared on Ed Schultz's MSNBC show discussing his appearance before Rep. Young's committee on natural resources.
@girlart9 To be fair, you know that the land which will be affected isn't going to cover one concentrated area, right? It'll be a much larger area with all the pipeline and drilling pads, spread out. The oil companies are famous for painting a much prettier story than what reality really looks like. The total footprint will be what Young says it is. But what he isn't saying is how that footprint is broken up into 1000 different parts, affecting much more than 3000 acres.
1) Congressman Young was rude to Dr. Brinkley. He's arrogant and self-righteous. 2) The amount of land in question is compared to a postage stamp on your livingroom floor. 3) There are environmental safe ways to extract the oil. 4) Our country needs its own sources of oil desperately so as not to be held hostage by the Saudis. 5) Remember everything you see on MSNBC is rabidly left wing.
And I thought Palin and Bachmann were the biggest cunts in the universe!
What kind of people elect a douchebag like this to anything, never mind the Congress?!
