August 1 is my Dad his birthday, and he died June 1996. He loved music and to sing along. I had recordered many songs for my parents, for their organ, so that they could play them anytime they wished.
He wanted to sing with every visitor, even when he was very ill.
The music I played, is "SAILING", especially because of the title, and because I think it is a good song also, composed by Rod Stewart.
My version though is almost not recognizable, because I am improvising my way, and so I hope you will like the way I did this. For me it became a special experience, because I did things I didn't do before.
Have all a great weekend!

Especially for my dear friend Em, here the written things in the video:
REMEMBERING MY "HEIT" (DAD)
This is my Father
he was special!
In Frisian we call
him: HEIT
August 1 is his birthday, so I dedicate this song and video to him!
While he was crossing the bridge from this life to the new existance of being,
which we call death, he sang along with my organmusic!
He passed away June 27, 1996
He was born on the ship but he did other things in life until he was 58 years.
Than he bought the ship that you see in the video, (which had my name :-) and
made his dream come true.
the ship is the symbol
for flashbacks of
the past ....
when he met our Mother,
married her and later on
we "arrived"
:-)
He sailed through the Netherlands and Belgium
with cargo
Since "day 1 he was accepted by the skippers,
and he felt very good about that.
The most proud he was, when both
his daughters went sailing with him :-)
When our Mother retired from her work
as a teacher, she went sailing with him
for 13 years! That was a real unusual
way of living for her,she was "from the
country", not from the ship .
Heit will always be in
our hearts and thoughts....
and
about the music, ...
he would have loved it!
So I think he is my
best fan in heaven!
He loved to sing...
Probably he sings
with the
Angels now!
+
maybe sailing
a heavenly ship!
Thank you
for
watching
and listenening!
Rest in Peace, dear Heit

There is no testimonial as meaningful as one embedded in music. Music transcends all layers of existence and understanding. Your father's soul soars to each rising and lowering note, sailing freely, while always keeping a loving eye on his daughter. He thanks the Lord for blessing you with vocal magnificence.
Simply beautiful.

Wow! In the photo with your mother the adoration is sparkling in his eyes. It's no wonder she went sailing with him for 13 years. That kind of love is precious.
