how do you get the last effect in the video, the one that starts at 2:37 ? Cause I'm thinkin of gettin After Effect and I love to know how to "create" or whatever you have to do to get that one

It is a plugin preset heavily modified . the plugin is trapcode form , from the company red giant. just google them and you will find loads

If it's 40GB then you did something wrong. There's no need to render full uncompressed AVI, just render something like 3Mbps WMV, you get great quality, great compression, and small filesize.
