Notice the audience is genuinely cheering at the end, which is kind of against the idea of this segment. Pierre's rants are supposed to be about very small and esoteric things that no one understands, but this one actually made perfect sense. I mean, I don't even know what a Mallomars is, but come on! There was a man on the moon, but they can't deliver a sweet all year because it could melt? Dosen't sound right.

I think the issue might be due to the combination of marshmallow and chocolate, as opposed to just chocolate.
That is, with two temperature sensitive ingredients (each with different heat tolerances) placed together in such close proximity, the one with the lower tolerance for heat could easily melt/and/or spoil the other prematurely.
This is also a possibility with regard to freezing, as the freezing temperature of one ingredient could make the other inedible.
