Video from a rear balcony on the Carnival Destiny as it embarks from the Port of Miami on October 20, 2008. Seen leaving ahead of it is the Carnival Imaginiation. The Destiny is followed by Royal Caribbean International's Majesty of the Seas, and NCL's Norwegian Sky, both of which are initially seen while muster drills are in process. The tug boat Florida escorts the Destiny out of the channel into the Atlantic Ocean as we bid Miami and South Beach farewell and begin our 5-night Eastern Caribbean cruise. • Is that the QM2 behind the [Majesty] of the Seas at 7:36?

  • @ManWhoLovesTheMary No, the Norwegian Sky is seen behind Majesty OTS at that point in the video. It was the last of the cruise ships to embark that day.

  • What are they going do with the older ships once the newer monsters arrive in miami and ft laurdale? Just wondering.

  • Older ships, like Carnival's former "Holiday Class" vessels, usually are sold or transferred to cruise lines in Europe or Asia. After several more decades of service they'll likely end up being sold for scrap.

  • Allure of the seas is the biggest and I have been on it

  • Those ships are really big place on google image search on Silja Symphony, it is Finland's biggest ship.

  • I wish NCL would put clouds as Norwegian Sky's hull art in stead of flowers, those flowers were from her old livery, clouds would make better sense, hence Norwegian SKY

  • Great video thanks for posting. I also found cruisesforthefamily (.) com to be a good source .
