  • Kaise: You are only hearing part of the sermon of course. And for the record, you ARE going to die and you are going to face judgment. That isn't me talking that's Jesus. Your suggested smiley face approach has been tried and found wanting. Comforting the family is one aspect, but others are present too, and as you say, the homily is not "individual truth" Hence I have obligations to the others who present who are, as any statistics show, to the rest who are largely not getting ready.

  • I have to say I disagree strongly with this message. I believe there will be more to see and do when this life is done but I do not believe we are here to anticipate being there. To me, each moment of this life is the reward. I do not believe that I am living fully when I am locked in a room with others and fixated on death. If I find myself standing before God and am called to explain what did you do with your life, I shall say, "I lived it. Thank you."

  • I do sympathise with your distraction. But we are not going to die .we are going to live! In classic US style . .what is death? The Church is about a mission and that is to bring Christs word to the people . .to comfort, to help, to be with. If we recall Judgement without mercy then we have lost our way, the way. I sympathize with the fact that many will hear and go away empty but it is not individual truth to know how Gods grace will work in them. Rather comfort those that mourn.

  • @luvdidfeet How wonderful to hear of God's work in your life. I am also a convert from Protestantism to Catholicism, and if you have any theological questions in that regard I would be very happy to help.

    Blessings be upon you.

  • Now that is what i call powerful!!

  • I wasn't going to go to mass today then I came across this video a few minutes before mass started. I went to church.

  • A message well worth sharing with others!

  • Wonderful!!!

  • absolutely incredible homily!

  • RIGHT ON!!! Some People will spend more time thinking of what Pair of socks to Wear than they think about Eternity.

I myself have been, not a Atheist, but someone who has never thought much about God. In the Past few years I have come to believe in Jesus. I am thinking about becoming Catholic, mainly because that is the Church Jesus Founded. I start attending the Catholic Mass. I feel as if Jesus IS Right there when I'm at Mass.
