Crash of a Boeing C-17A Globemaster III just after takeoff from Elemdorf AFB, Anchorage, Alaska. The aircraft was practicing for an airshow performance and the pilot pushed the aircraft beyond its limits.

@rookyandb True but there's footage of this that was recorded by regular people with their own camera, and strangely it cuts out exactly where this footage does; but citizens aren't under such regulations as the military is now are they? I mean, just look at the B-52 crash in the related videos!

@tjohn6041 In physics yes and you'd be right except for the reasons. This one was an air show practice gone horribly wrong. The B-52 was a "hot dog" pilot on his VERY last chance check ride and he over stepped his bounds (arrogance killed those on the B-52).

@Dremple No such thing as "test pilot" mode in this one. That was what is referred to as a "Combat Take-Off" and it was only an air show practice run. The plane itself is not designed to go perpendicular to the ground and thus lost lift which unfortunately for the 4 souls onboard ended in disaster. The pilot was just pushing the envelope of the planes limits too far.

@macsdestroypcs Yes but you can't see the footage from this shot due to the fact that it is a military camera and is under the information acts of the US Air Force. The choices of those who filmed the crash with their own personal cameras are not ours to determine. I applaud them for practicing discretion, especially when that was one of the planes I worked on. I was working on it not long before that video was taken.
