  • @mattwweraw89 I think yes, good call. Do you why DropkickMurphy's is called that?

  • I'M FROM BOSTON AND I DIDN'T REALIZE THE CHARLIE CARD WAS NAMED AFTER THIS SONG!!

  • @immoley yes actually that really IS whee the name comes from!

  • When I was a kid they still had "Dime Time" the fare was 10 cents during the off peak hours. I always wondered why Charlie just didn't leave during "Dime Time". BTW not for nothing, but why does this video feature all above ground trolleys when Charlie was said (sung) to ride beneath the streets of Boston?

  • @immoley YES! It is a subtle nod to the song, and the folk history that has sprung up around it.

  • @Usonian20 It was a protest: Charlie thought they shouldn't have to pay the fare increase. I can't believe people don't figure out this obvious point. My question is, how did Charlie use the bathroom? It's not like he could use one in the station, because they won't let him off the train!

  • @immoley yeah MTA stands for Massachusetts Transit Authority now its called the MBTA or the Mass Bay Transit Authority

  • So, has anyone ever wondered why Charlie's wife hands him a sandwich every day (as the train comes rumblin' thorugh) rather than a nickle so he can get off the damn thing?? What's her game? Talk about passive-agressive...

  • @immoley yes

  • We sung this song at day camp when i was little and the music director would always use one our names. This brings back great memories!
