A dump truck towing a backhoe is many tons of steel, and that's assuming the truck was empty, if it had a full load, you can add another 5 or more tons. That kind of weight doesn't just stop and the yellow light was pretty short. There was no way that driver could have stopped. If he had tried, he would have endangered lives.

what is this idiot driver thinking when he was videoing while DRIVING,i was told that if you get a red light and think that you may cause an accident behind you then you drive on which this truck driver done,in my eyes he done no wrong, uploader is an arsehole who has little to do with his bad driving time.

@morgothic420 Solution: If u´re gonna transport 15 tons of steel, u drive slow. Results: Lots of lives saved.
-
That's fine, he would have stopped in the middle of the intersection if he had tried to brake at that point.
-
Pretty sure that light was still orange (just) as the truck entered the intersection so can't see the problem here
-
If he had hit the brakes you'd be bitching about the truck stopping in the middle of the intersection. And if your running the camera while driving your a hazard.

You have never driven a truck with a load before then you dumb ass. I have only ever driven a duramax with a 26 ft trailer and some hay on the back and it takes a lot of time and distance to stop it. That backhoe alone weighs more than your car so if he had put on the brakes he would have just slid through and only would have stopped in the other side of the light so what would be the point?
-
@morgothic420 I agree with what you say, however,if he was indeed a good driver he would anticipate the light change? Also,if he had the required amount of chains on (forward movement restraint) he should have been able to stop.

the person who filmmed this evidently dosent know about airbrakes lagging meaning when the brakes are applied the time it takes to stop that kind of vehicle increases it is not like trying to stop a car on a dime it takes eight car lengths to make a safe stop the worse are tankers cause of the sloshing effect caused by liquid cargomotion in ice or slick roads it can push the tractor through as for this one reduced speed would have stopped this vehicle i watch for cross signals for hints

@skatecubed I really don't know. My wife says I do the same thing :( Anyway the sad thing about this video. It was simply a camera test. I was going to visit my grandmother and realized it shot videos and this is the end result..
