Sadly Donald Angus "Donnie" MacDonald passed away on April 23, 2007. Donnie was a well-known fiddler and tradition bearer, who played for many family and friends at weddings, dances and ceilidhs over the years. He was a proud member of the Cape Breton Fiddlers Association since its formation and of St. Mary of the Angels Parish in Glendale. He retired from the Georgia Pacific Gypsum Company in Sugar Camp, yet remained active, tending to the family homestead in Queensville, until his death.
Donnie was a man who was greatly loved by young and old, he has left us with a legacy of culture, fond memories, and our cherished "Donnie Dougald stories"; he is greatly missed by all.
