What's the ultimate goal of Meet Me in DC? Read below:

If you could say anything, or ask ANY questions of your representatives in Washington D.C., what would you say? What would you ask?

OK, I'm dreaming big here, folks... suspend your disbelief for a few moments...

What we hope to do with Meet Me in DC (and this will happen if we have enough people), is demand an American Citizen's Forum during the week of July 4-8.

Congress is on vacation (for the 8th time this year -Google Congressional schedule for reference) during that time, so they have no business planned during that week , and no excuse not to be present for the following.

If/when we get enough people on board with this we can ask our representatives publicly, a few weeks prior to that week, "Why should our representatives take their 8th vacation of the year while we, the American people, suffer?"

We will then tell them that any of these representative that TRULY serves the American people will be present, in both the House and Senate Chambers, for the First Annual American Citizen's Forum, July 4, 2011.

The Citizen's Forum is an opportunity for American Citizens to speak directly to their public servants; with no filters, no corporate lobbyists, no media bias, and no buffer between the system they've created to benefit themselves and the reality of the lives of every day Americans -who suffer from the inequities and injustices inherent in this system.

Beginning July 4-8, 2011, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 pm (for those of you who work or have worked 12 hour days, this one's for you ; ) and breaking only as often as demanded by law, with a 1/2 hour break for lunch (just like most Americans) the American People will speak, (in 10-15 minute slots) and our servants will listen. We will question them, and they will answer us.

So I ask you again, if you could say anything, or ask ANY questions of your representatives in Washington D.C., what would you say? What would you ask if you, and the American People could demand answers?

  • wonder if people are doing this where i live

  • @vwstevorino from

  • @vwstevorino . Apparently it is TOO much to ask, because ohhh thats right it isnt beneficial to them. Step up and think about this, honestly, is the future you want full of hatred, ignorance, and materialistic life styles? Step up and if you want to help. Then MEET ME IN DC.

  • @vwstevorino brothers and children if we just sit back and relax as our country fades into dark and painful future. . is it too much to ask for our government to look around the streets of cities, go to the homeless shelters, or the homes for women and children.

  • @vwstevorino Our constitution is being under-minded and yet, we dont realize it because the government has made ways to hide it. How many times has the president promise our country something and somehow he gets out of it. And not many notice, because the government has found out how to hide their flaws, most likely because they do not want their citizens questioning them and their role in society, what are we teaching our friends and family, little sisters and brothers and children if we

  • @vwstevorino So that our jobs can be out sourced to foreign countries? No, I dont have anything against foreigners.

We sit here and pay for Haiti, we sit here and pay for Africa, we sit here and pay for all these countries and we are not realizing that we put ourselves in this situation! The president goes out to all these countries and makes donation, but did he ever stop to think that while we are picking up the pieces of other countries, ours is falling apart.

  • @vwstevorino Okay so I believe that we are at fault for what our country has become, yes us, “we the people”. I do think that it isn't only the citizens fault but it is also the presidents. This is my personal opinion, I think we need to wake up and realize that our country has became nothing but a nightmare. Some may think that our country is perfectly fine, but think about the thousands starving and dying and being put out on streets. And for what?
