Yes 9th there is an Ace label here, and they have done a fine job of reissuing the music we both love so much. Spreading the music must be a good thing.
Am I right in recalling that the Ms. Ace label was run by Jonny Vincent, real name Vincent Imbragulio, sounds well Italian to me, but he sure could spot & issue great tracks, like early Crudup, Elmore, etc

Happy to help 9th, info from an old LP Ace of Hearts Label, used by Decca London for reissues in the 70,s, has Memphis Minnie, Hopkins, Georgia White, Kokomo Arnold, Oscar Woods, Joe Turner with Pete Johnson,Trixie SmithJonnie Temple,Blackwell, SWheatstraw, Estes, Rosetta Crawford, fine collection. Ive 2 of em both called "Out Came The Blues. different artists. Harlem Hamfats, Spivey, Lonnie from the who dat.
More incoming 9th, the notes on these lp,s were written by Stanley Dance & Yannick Bruynoghe, so I guess the info is good.

@gitfiddlejim Thanks. I hate it when I see that old Ace label and it's in England and not Jackson Mississippi but I'm thrilled they thought enough not only to make it available, but at very high standards.

Hi 8th, it isnt the Ace label from Jackson, Ms its Ace of Hearts, a subsidiary of Decca London, no connection, your Ace is high, an safe too, and it did produce some great stuff!

@gitfiddlejim I assume you wanted me and not my cousin, 8th who plays nothing but classical music. Do you know I have to wear a shirt over at their house for Sunday dinner? Big shot snobs if you ask me! As for Ace Records, there is a company over in GB controlling the old "Ace" catalogue and it's fine by me. Better than seeing all those good obscure songs disappear. I may be wrong but I think there's like 3 different "Ace" labels over there. Confuses the hell out of me.

Hi 9th, thi sounds a lot like the band on Beggin Woman, so if it is, then the pianist is Sammy Price, one of the Billy Butler Trio, he,s on guitar, +Percy Joel Bass, Dorothea Smith drums, Beggin was recorded in NY, Nov 17th 1947 he sings she stays up all night to beg the man in the moon. A very fine number. Maybe this info is correct.
