FYI:
Dr. Jonathan Zizmor is an American dermatologist from New York City famous for his television commercials and prolific, colorful subway ads promising that "Now you can have beautiful clear skin!"
Despite Dr. Zizmor's high degree of local fame, some of his ads boast that "all patients [are] seen by Dr. Z."
The fact that most New Yorkers recognize Dr. Zizmor but he remains all but unknown outside of the New York area makes him somewhat of a cultural touchstone for a city whose quirks and idiosyncrasies have often been appropriated by the larger American culture. For example, during her 2000 run for U.S. Senate from New York, the The New Yorker proposed that Hillary Clinton, who had never lived in New York, be required to prove her connection to the state by taking a quiz that only New Yorkers would be able to pass. One of their suggested questions was, "Who is Dr. Zizmor?"
I wonder if she passed the test?
Wow! I remember that Milk commercial like it was yesterday!

@Buffdude432 that's funny you say that because when I was a kid I used to loved to watch commercials. Good to see other ppl liked them too & that I wasn't a weird kid like my mother said. lol.

I'm so glad that I'm in pretty large company when it comes to watching old commercials, I always had a thing for it ever since I was a young kid. I always thought I was the only person to ever have an interest at looking at old commercial breaks, but I am wrong.
I remember being REALLY shocked to find out that Newmark & Lewis went belly up.
BTW, Thanks, burtiscurtis09 for the videos.

Nice write up on Dr. Zizmor! His ads have only permeated New York TV for years (I remember them being seen on "American Gladiators" on WNYW in the early 90s myself).... but the same could NEARLY be said for electronics store magnate Dick Lewis, whose name was nearly as ubiquitous in New York throughout the 1980s (with the sky-god like credit card!) Dick Lewis WAS watching...... I think they went defunct around the same time the similar Trader Horn stores went bankrupt.....
