Beautiful music. I'd love to get the soundtrack. Is that true that Brad Pitt, David Thelewis and the producer are banned from entering China? I'm amazed that they actually got permission to film in Tibet. Separate point, I'd hate to think what the number of Tibetan casualties has risen to since the making of this film. Those monks who have been setting themselves on fire may be taking things to the extreme, but at least it has got us in the west talking about Tibet again.

I like the movie Kundun better, due to a higher quality acting and a more cohesive storyline in general. I enjoy this film though. I thought the actor playing the Dalai Lama did a fantastic job. I liked David Thewlis in it too. Brad would be okay without the accent ;).

The only good thing about Seven Years in Tibet...was John Williams music...that Yo Yo Ma was apart of....Bad flic...great score...

and they chose to stay.
their demand was to be independent yet completely dependent on Canadian econmy and currency
Also the Canadian Military is not "occupying" Quebec. there is no "Curfew" in Montreal or Quebec City. And the French Language and Catholic instituion are not being destroyed. If anything French language and culture is forced down the throats of all Canada
comparing Canada and Quebec to China and Tibet is like comapring Apples to Oranges.

The movie was ok, for for a truer look please read the book. It is a far better account than this is.
