A detailed unboxing of the Impact Twin, an audio interface by TC Electronic. The soundtrack for this video is actually the DI/Impact III preamp soundcheck.

That's me on the 6 strings.

Humble images from a humble camera. Enjoy!

  • one thing i dont get is how the monitoring is supposed to work..

do i have to keep plugging and unplugging the headphones to record a vocal??

I mean, if I want to record I plug the headphones in the "muting" jack and monitors get muted, that is fine. But, then when I want to hear the result trough the monitors then I must unplug the headphones (!) And if I plug into the "non muting" then I get feedback since the monitors are sounding.

  • @ElAlexxis hey there... well, that's why we all wanted to have an extra volume control for the headphones, so there would be no need of the plug/unplug headphone trend. One way to deal with that is getting a volume knob like TC Pilot Control for your speakers... still, why not an extra knob on the Impact Twin? =)

  • ? so....

  • @ElAlexxis ...? If it's good? Yeah, I really like the pre amps. And the conversion is pretty good.

  • Hi there XYstereo! Could you let me know what the brand or logo of the firewire cable, is it "Copartner" or "Total Technologies"?

I have 2 cables and cant remember witch is supposed to be. Ive heard there could be problems if using a cheaper one.

  • @chobbaaz I used to use it with Logic, works fine. It will work with Garage Band yeah, and Pro Tools only with version 9 (for previous version you will need to use specific hardware interface). Cheers

  • @chobbaaz Yes, works out fine - it´s actually my own setup (iMac, OSX 10.6.7 using the 800 port). The firewire 800/400 adaptor (included) does the job. Best regards

  • @XYstereo good to hear. would be cool to see a review/comment of your experiences so far. if you found any problems, what kind of setup you are using it with etc
