I try to be on Conyers' side, but he couldn't be any more wrong in this action. The fact of the matter is that if ANY of these people had been doing their jobs for the last twenty years or so, we wouldn't be up to our necks in war crimes and corruption. The media doesn't speak for the people or cover the demonstrations, our representatives disregard the masses of emails, and now the last viewable vestiges of protest are "tossed out".

It's hard to reason why these people aren't already in jail, much less still holding their positions. Conyers ( and the rest of congress ) needs to be less concerned about the "civilized" presentation of the hearings and the "respect" shown to Gonzalez, and start holding these people responsible for what they have done.

  • To Attention101: come on! I'm all for protesting, free speech, etc. But there is a time and place for it and this hearing WAS NOT IT. You are correct that Gonzales, Cheney, Bush, all of them should be held responsible for their horrendous administration. But Code Pink has routinely humiliated themselves by deciding "let's just disrupt whatever we can disrupt, regardless of whether it is relevant." It's embarrassing. They are out of control.

  • Poor Conyers. He has my respect now.

  • Anyone who has been in any form of government proceeding would understand that this point of order was completely justified. Code Pink just seems to think that they are above the law.

  • I heard it took a gallon of A-200 Pyrinate to get the crabs off the chairs when code pink left the room.

  • i assume they are pro-welfare too, seeing as they protest all day and don't have jobs. however i also wouldn't be surprised if they were anti-welfare, seeing as third party organizations have the mandatory utterly-ludicrous hypocrisy statements. the things code pink are saying aren't all that socially iconoclastic

  • I agree a public hearing is not the place for a political agenda- but its kind of a hard call because our tax dollars are paying for the hearing, the upkeep of the building the hearing was held in and the salaries of the Congressmen. We've been protesting for 6 years now and our troops are STILL in Iraq.

  • Code Pinko reaks

  • no one had a camera on the code pink.untill the complaint was brought up.then the banner was no biger the a sheet of paper.she got more attention when she was excorted out

  • These videos were taken in late 2006 and 2007 after the Democrats took control of Congress....so the chairman of each meeting would be a Democrat and would be the one to throw these morons out...Im sure the Republicans have no love for them either

  • Exactly.
