Yeah Slim Newton wrote it. He's my grandfather. He still performs it to this day.

This is SLIM NEWTON not SLIM DUSTY. Newton's version reached #5 on the Australian Singles Chart in 1972. I think Slim Dusty covered this song but Newton's is the most well-known.

Yep, Slim Newton from West Australia ... the poor guy almost always loses his credits to Slim Dusty who was a legend in his own right. Even the karaoke track gives the credit to Slim Dusty ... you would think they could get it right!
