DREAM Act Hearing

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] - Assistant Senate Majority Leader Dick Durbin (D-IL) chaired the first-ever Senate hearing on the DREAM Act before the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security. The DREAM Act would allow a select group of immigrant students with great potential to contribute more fully to America. These young people were brought to the U.S. as children and should not be punished for their parents' mistakes.

Some people just have no sympathy , we are reall people and deserve our right because we are american american american forever no matter what i will live my life to the fullest because as an american i believe we stand strong and live life with liberty and justice for all no matter what race, dream act is the right thing to do

@FatPigCypris The thing about the Dream Act is that it's for people who came here as children (and still are adolescents at the point that they would apply). Meaning, it usually wasn't their decision, and they've grown up in America, as Americans in everything except citizenship. A country should not punish children for the actions of their parents.

Honestly all those that believe that these people that may have your same interest or may be your sister or brothers friend and want to deport them. You should be ashamed of yourself. You have no heart and no compassion it wasn't there fault that they came to this country, a country there parents believed would open doors and give them a brighter future towards sucess. #supporterofdreamact

If I go to Thailand and I overstay my visa and get caught, they will throw my ass in an overcrowded deportation center with very little food and water for about a week and they will deport me. All countries have immigration policies and they will punish you if you do not follow their laws. I just don't understand why America should go soft on people and just give our country away to people who are not legal citizens. The Dream Acts is total bullshit!
