Here is a great dry fly from tyer Hans Van Klinken. It works great as a caddis emerger, but we use it more often as a searching pattern for trout. It is very effective at bringing fish to the surface. Also a great dry fly for cruising carp.

  • @cryptomorph- thanks for the fishing tips. We use it as a searching pattern here and often fish it with droppers as well. It is a fantastic pattern

  • Carp definitely eat this fly. I use a size 12 for carp and a stout hook makes a difference. The partridge hooks are nice and stout.

  • do you tie with a law vise?

  • Nice video! Over here (England) we often fish klink and dink. Tie a small nymph (New Zealand style) a few feet under the klink. It floats like a boat and gives great take indication on the nymph as well as bringing up lots of fish as the summer moves along. Great way to fish a bit of water you don't know too well.

  • You mentioned at the end of the video that this is a good trout and CARP fly. Can you really get carp up to this fly? I live in PA next to the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Hookin' up on a Golden Ghost is like trying to stop a motorcycle with your flyrod! I always have to go "downunder" to get'em. I can't wait to try it! -Arneal
