A video highlighting the projects that Penny Power will benefit from in 2010. The money raised will be counted at the Virginia Mennonite Relief Sale, October 2. The money raised is split 50/50 between Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and Virginia Mennonite Missions (VMM).
The MCC project is the Global Family Program, which helps support children through community-based education sponsorship, student scholarships, nutritious lunches, library materials, school supplies and fees, and more.
There are two VMM projects: a week-long event in Italy called "Settimana Felice" or Happy Week, which teaches children about God is a variety of ways in a loving, action- and fun-filled setting. The other half will support the Joshua Center in Albania, which provides a nurturing place for young Roma (Gypsy) children to learn about God and learn life skills like hygiene and good manners.
