In summer 1929 BMW increased its range of products with its first sport vehicle: the BMW 3-15PS. Also known as the DIXI, the car had 15 horsepower, 550 kilograms and a maximum speed of almost 80 kilometres an hour.

  • In Canada and USA, we currently have a group who puts 'Buy Domestic' stickers on the back of their american/canada manufactured cars.... When I see BMW, I see why I shouldn't buy domestic. Just so much better. 545i 2003 owner :)

  • No mention whatsoever that it was an Austin 7 built under licence. I guess, having destroyed Austin's parent company, they figure they can destroy the memory of Austin as well.

  • The Dixi is basically an Austin 7 with a BMW badge. A lot of car makers around this time were using Austin 7 based vehicles.
