MARI Pencak Silat Demo Indonesian TV 2003

During their 2003 training trip to Indonesia Grandmaster Edward Lebe of Harimau Pasaman Minangkabau Pencak Silat invited members of the Martial Arts Research Institute of Salem, Massachusetts, U.S.A. (Michael Williams, May Williams and John Savage) to participate in a demonstration during the airing of a popular Indonesian television variety show in Djakarta, Indonesia as the opening entertainment of the MMA fight card scheduled that evening.

What are IPSI students?

For me IPSI is the Indonesian Pencak Silat Federation.

IPSI was founded in Surakarta Indonesia in 1948 as an organization of the unity of Pencak perguruans and Silat perguruans. It stands for Ikatan Pencak Silat Indonesia. In the context I used in the video I was referring to the College of Pencak Silat in Jakarta and students who were trainig there. At IPSI, or IPSI students are just simplified references to the bigger picture.
