Cheers for the comment, car is std engine wise, had it on the rollers and and it made 156bhp / 150lb ft torque.

Hopefully be pushing 185-190bhp when it comes back out this year with sbd exh manifold and 48mm carbs.

i drove a 16v when they where band new at a dealer i used to work for quite liked it until i had a go in a escort rs turbo sorry boys rs a better more tuneable car

Yeah the joys of turbo's tuning, just not as quick as the Astra in std guise. :-P

Got a real soft spot for Escort RST's though, in fact any RS brand really. Would love a Mint Escort but couldn't really justify spending £2k more than mines worth for it to be honest.

Just in the process of converting the Astra to run on some 48mm carbs so should be a bit more fruity next time its out on track :-D

these are my favourite cars, my unlce had one n crashed it and its still going strong today! only some chav wanker has took all the original skirts wheels n exhausts off n wankered it to bits, one of his mates seen it and took a pic. he regrets selling it to a man with hardly any teeth, he wasnt old either.
