Hina Spani (15 February 1896 - 11 July 1969) was an Argentinian soprano. She studied in Buenos Aires and in Italy. She made her début as Anna in Alfredo Catalani's Loreley at La Scala in 1915 and then returned to Argentina, performing at the Teatro Colón, notably as Nedda (Pagliacci) with Caruso and Ruffo.
After World War I she gained prominence among the lyric sopranos in Italy, while adding to her repertory Richard Wagner's Elsa, Elisabeth and Sieglinde and such dramatic roles in Giuseppe Verdi as Aida and Amelia (Ballo in maschera). She reappeared at La Scala as Margherita in Mefistofele ( 1924 ), sang in France and Spain and toured Australia with Nellie Melba and the J.C. Williamson company ( 1928 ). In the 1930s she performed in Claudio Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea and Orfeo, Jean-Philippe Rameau's Castor et Pollux and (at the Colón) Verdi's Oberto.
Spani was also a distinguished concert artist and recitalist, with a large and wide-ranging repertory of songs. Her voice had a finely concentrated dramatic power with an exquisite pianissimo, and she was among the most stylish singers of her time.
