I've always loved this Rolling Stones song but when I heard Towns Van Zandts version of it, at the end of "The Big Lebowski", I had to learn it! So bitter and beautiful!

  • STFU Donnie!

  • @twst1 and then the guy ends up in a Folger's coffee can, poor bastard!

  • the dude abides.

  • @darthj3d "the dude abides" indeed! I love that movie and that line says it all. Although my nature runs more towards the "Walter" character, I try to keep the "dude abides" spirit.

  • Great version wi' 12 string......I've a 12 string Fender 1974 shit model.....still responds lovingly

to anything I want to strum, pick or roust about to.........

All the best mate...keep playing that 12............

    G

  • @uviclad thanks mate! Seems like nobody plays a 12 string anymore. Just us old farts! It's probably easier to buy an "effects" pedel than to keep the 12 in tune. Keep the dust off your Fender 12!

  • I take it you mean "Scots".....We do get the blues but without affecting a false north American accent, bluesy don't somehow deal originality..

  • @uviclad shit.....does that mean Scotts don't get the blues?!?!?!? I think not ;)

  • Hey mate...do you have any more songs to stash here on the Tube ?

    Would luve to hear them..

I play harmonica also..but my Scottish accent does not lend itself to bluesy..

    Cheers..G

  • @sk8rjon5 glad ya like it! I've had it for about 10 years. It's a 1968 D12-20. It's got a short, fat neck and it feels like a 2X4 in my hand, but Martin was just getting in to the 12 string market, so they didn't know any better. But it rumbles when ya play it!!!
