Subhan Allah .. Ibn Al Jawzi is a brilliant man .. If you read his book Talbees Iblis (The Devil's deception) .. It is amazing .. He put counter arguments against several other belief systems .. very very clever and logic arguments .. I can't believe that this man died about 1000 year ago.

if somethign is dirty then it is better to clean it rather than to make it smell nice, in other words our hearts are dirty with sin, so instead of saying tasbeeh alone, we should make tawbah to make our heart pure again inshaa'Allaah.
Sorry if I didnt explain it every well
