Here I edited 2 different Landings in St.Maarten (SXM) videos showing the gusty effect of the Tradewinds. Every year just like the Monsoon, we have the "KWARISMA-Special".
This North-Easterly wind picks up speed, and become very gusty. Just happen to have 2 recordings of same crew and same plane doing exactly the same Landing. You can clearly see the big control input required to maintain the steady approach and Landing.
Feedback Appreciated.

  • Miserable camera shots, ffs stop all the fancy bs and just show one camera angle.

  • @naval8viator ok homo

  • Did you have multiple or single its in the cockpit at which you positioned the camera for steady shots? If not, you did one helluva job keeping the camera steady! BTW, I know it's difficult at the time to switch once it's done, but I think it would have been cooler to see the picture in picture reversed.

  • @TheTopBloke the camera is mounted on the aircraft, noone is holding the cam. and its a pic in pic of 2 different flights. same crew same plane.

  • 5:16 look at the rancher, on the road, its chuck norris.

  • @mmichaeldonavon i agree wholeheartedly, the more i see of "glass" cockpits and computer gamer jockeys, the less i want to fly.....gotta ck out insel air, hope they still have analog cockpit.

  • @jayflies737 It helps the pilot gauge when to start and end the flare for landing. It kind of takes place of the 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 read outs that they usually get.

  • 4:38 What is the rising tone or beep?

  • @haitiano1982 Simple is better. Two opposing views, one which obstructs the main view, is awkward and detracts from the video. Its about as bad as zoom-happy camera men.

  • As an FS pilot, two things I'll note:

    (1) The only thing I don't like about the DC-9/MD80 class of aircraft is how there's two windshield bridges, which tend to interfere with vision;

    (2) Love the aggressive control inputs at low speed, I have to get over myself and do more of that when I'm landing.

  • Landing the plane with one hand, like a BOSS!

  • In addition - just love those "Steam Gauges; you can have ALL of the Glass Panels. I know, I know: Inovation and less workload for the "Drivers" - that's true for sure. But, still love those little round gauges (was an "old school" Avionics Maintenance type, then. Thanks for a great video. N-6395T
