In this segment film in Modesto, CA, Victor explains to the viewers of Wasteland TV, the changes of the monsters in 4th edition D&D (dungeons and dragons). Victor compares 4th edition's new monster set with second edition version on how they have "final fantasy" or "WOW"ed (world of warcraft) the monster now ....they became more video game like now and less mythical like in the early verision of D&D...

  • You guys seriously need a series of updated videos on 4e, because all your 4e videos feature a lot of incorrect information on the edition.

  • I do agree that all the vides on 4th were done when the game hadn't been released or at the early stages of the release.....but there are so many games out there which makes it had to get back to 4th Edition....that are more interesting then a updated d&d system at times.....

  • I agree. They make it so that its simple. Players now these days don't want a challege to were they have to find NPCs or other players that have a skill or ability they need. (ie. The wish spell) People want it to be like if they roll a fighter, they should be able to face every challege out there instead of useing cunning, magic, lore, or something more then a great axe attack. water vampires, please. A vampire is a vampire and needs to follow all the rules with it. I agree with you Victor.

  • I'm a new player, and even newer DM, I started playing 3.5e with some friends just over a year ago. From all that I've seen in 4th edition, it does seem very cramped? As if the game play is so quick and efficiant that the mystique of it is lessened. I haven't had the serene pleasure of running a 2nd edition or earlier game, but I have read several sourcebooks, and they do seem incredible, with their mythos and lore. However, I still find the best part of the game to be it's flexibility and story

  • if they kept things the same, no one would buy the new product. and the shit would still be boring. i like most of the changes, it's something new. besides, if you dont care for 4e, you can still play 3e 0r 3.5. no one will stop you im sure. as for playing monsters, you could play a half orc in past version so who cares. there is no rule saying you have to play a monster. besides people, its table top, do with it what you will.

  • Simple as this, 3rd and up make it easier for bad gamers to game, anything that supports bad gamers and keeps them in the gaming community, is a poison to all of us quality gamers.

I run 2ed and if you suck then you won't be able to hide it and you will be filtered out of that position as you should be.

  • Oh that was cool. Thanks! I agree with it. Hey I am used to 2nd edition still lol

Still, D&D inspired us to make movies in the fantasy world and rules and characters.

Monsters and various races are used.

Our movies are all put on You Tube

    Movies by: Shadowyn Films

    movies like: Soul Searching

If you like D&D you will like these movies a well.

    Ideas are welcome!

  • @CondorDM i thought 3.5 was really good, but i did have to limit certain feats and classes the characters could play. But 4.0 is severely broken. Today a player did nearly 100 points of damage in one round with a 5th level character. Broken!

  • 3rd/3.5 was dumbing things down, now i just put 3rd/3.5/4th into the garbage bin, they are not real dungeons and dragons.

  • Same thing my friend felt when he bought 3rd/3.5 books and i am glad i haven't wasted my money on either edition, ad&d 2ed is real dungeons and dragons.

Wizards of the coast just made a game and used the name dungeons and dragons.

Oh yeah in 3rd/3.5 you can play monsters, dwarven mages should all die.

  • Totally agree with you. I regret even buying the 4e PHB.
