Being down grunt side isn't an easy thing. They don't make a movie or video game that give you the experience of what it is really like. The ones that talk about it are likely the ones that sat in the firm bases sorting out the mail. I can only imagin what it would have been like in WW2 or WW1 with the marines first crack at a "real war experience". Rip my fallen brothers. (2nd BN 6th Marines)

@doggyxwoo I'm sure it will absolutely fantastic to lie in the dirt with your insides hanging out and the flies settling down.

@fikimiki44 it was your choice and there choice your choice to sit on you ass while the dying dead and dammed fight for you and to not stand up maybe if you did you would be the one that jumps on the grenade and die and maybe then some body worth there left nut goes home to there loved ones and is not just a voice on the phone to there kids and it was there choice to go so you don't have to go and you can be with loved ones as there brothers die next to them in a baptism of fire

Five generations...Up in the Argonne Grand Father, Tarawa, Iwo Jima, Pusan Father, Khe Sanh My Honor with 3/26, Baghdad My son and Great Nephew.
I heard the Judy Collins Amazing Grace one morning at Khe Sanh. Considering the pasting General Giap's artillery had given us the night before. It really was Amazing we were still there. I never forgot that moment.

Bummer you feel that way. Their choice gives you the freedom to speak ignorantly.

Its your choice, only because it was theirs.
why i want to join the Corps is because i want to fight and die along side these brave men and women of the United States Marine Corps, it will be a great honor to me and the USA.

To join the brotherhood of the Marine Corps and to be called "Marine" is a badge of honor, and a transformation of the human spirit to a higher level. To serve with honor is the goal of every Marine. When that service requires the loss of life, a Marine acts with honor and knows that some must die that others may live. There are hundreds of thousands of Marines that come home alive for every Marine who remains on the battlefield.
So join, serve, act with honor and come home alive and well.
