Even more ancient than Tai chi, the circle walking techniques of Ba Gua were developed over four thousand years ago in Taoist monasteries as a health and meditation art. The techniques open up the possibilities of the mind to achieve stillness and clarity; generate a strong, healthly, disease-free body; and, perhaps more importantly, maintain internal balance while either your inner world or the events of the external world of the external world are rapidly changing. It is also known as ba gua chang, ba gua zhang or pakua chang.

  • once you've mastered just the circle walking, angles, joints and speed, you dont even need to touch your opponent to defeat or humiliate them, i say humiliate because you can run them into a wall, or just seem an absolute master while they seem like amateurs. very fun, very good for walking through crowds too

  • Actually, Bagua is famous for being able to take care of multiple attackers.

  • I only learned a small amount of Bagua(very small), but I was shown to sit quite low and turn to the center at the same time: interestingly Bruce doesn't seem to turn to the center in the way I was show, much at all, and doesn't sit low at all...yet he is considered an master. From reading his books he is extremely good. I suppose he doesn't need those things I was shown(apparently which develop internal strength), since he has master that already. He looks quite effortless and spontaneous.

  • that was some crazy bagua.

  • I think Ba gua is quite lethal, most people think oh its only walking in circles and stuff but if you can our manuver your opponent taking them down is easier, Avatar the last airbender :D screw you m night for not using this style

  • very cool... on you tube -american shaolin wudan jerry cook- showes the i-ching forms in 9 gate 8 diagram palm and 8 animal nei gung i c were theas moves come from ...used in spiritual i-ching manifistation a immortal linage from dao-in group also dose yang wu chen taichi and xing-yi and the 8 immortal sword styles

  • funny they said bagua is the newest internal style around afte xingyi and taiji

  • @Ultratwinkie This is what airbending is based off of.

  • I went to Kumar's Bagua camp. I wanted to see if he was the real thing. He is!!!! His ba gua is amazing.

  • it is difficult to see from a beautiful form where the danger lies, but it is there

note at 0:31, where he executes a fury of movement, and what appears like an awkward inside crescent kick, slapping his other hand. Slapping the hand in forms is not just for the loud noise. This action is almost always to break bone. Here, it's the forearm of an attacker throwing a punch to the face. The follow-up is a very quick assuming an attack vector where the opponent is unbalanced and pushing him over
