@knownpornographer Ok we spar but we dont used those deadly skill to do in a sparring or in a real fight...we only do it for a real issues like someone is trying to kill you with a knife or any stuff.
-
@todei79 i agree with you. too many people on youtube claiming that they dont spar much because their art is very dangerous. my question is how do you know it works with out sparring and fighting? especially against other styles?

Nice fighting mix!

@todei79 i understand what you mean but the repetition of the forms and motions program them into muscle memory... being prepared for the street is good but without the muscle memory its a lot more difficult to react without thought. i feel a good balance is the key you have to be used to fists and feet flying at you but you must also understand the art fully by practice and repetition

@todei79 actually, it´s 2 different training exercises. There is no better than the other... both are important if u want technique more than brawling

@Tommy9834 So by your logic, Raping a person is Martial Arts, Mass Murder is Martial arts, Shooting someone in the head is Martial Arts, being a serial killer is martial arts, etc.
-
@todei79 ya, i always looked at the forms as just a way to memorize the movements you use in fighting. even after you memorize them you still have to practice the application, and practice using the movements in full contact sparring. anything without full contact sparring = useless

@todei79 kata's and forms should be there so you can practice and perfect your techniques also when you are allone so you do things beter and more efficient in sparring but sparring most be done a lot...
@oooBASTIooo I think we have to determine the difference between ring and street, it's too easy to maintain that if it doesn't work in the ring, it won't in the street. It's simply not the case. I've seen people who as you state aren't trained, get clocked because they got caught in the chin etc. I guess, some styles lend themselves well to the ring environment, and others don't. I'm a firm believer in the concept of their being something useful everywhere, just have to look for it. :)

@todei79 they both go hand in hand your forms teach you just that form, without good form your sacrificing either balance speed power or structure or just all of the above.
