Playstation Network Hacked - User Info Stolen!

The PlayStation Network has been down since the middle of last week. The result of the outage, as users were notified on Saturday, was to rebuild the network security in light of an unwanted, external intrusion. Now Sony has come forth and issued an update declaring that personal user information was stolen during the intrusion.

The data includes usernames, passwords, names, birth dates, addresses, purchase history and, Sony warns, potentially credit card information. Here's how Sony's putting it... "...we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained..."

@emopanda65 nope u think that psn was hacked,well xbox live was also hacked,TWICE!!!!!Yep,their account was hacked and ms points stolen,they was reporting it to microsoft,but microsoft didnt care about it.Then in 2008 xbox live crashed and microsoft didnt give a shit about it,cuz they was still getting their money

Of course this totally made me want to switch systems so I could just play crossplatformers and halo, and pay extra to do so. I'm sort of upset that this happened, but that's why you use fake info in the first place, change your password often, and have a backlog of single player games (Fallout 3 ftw). Plus, 9 free games and 30 days of PS Plus is a lot more substantial than MS's offering when they got hacked... NOTHING!
