A nice performance by my friend, the late Dru Lombar from the band, (GRINDERSWITCH) Dr. Hector & The Groove Injectors who toured in the 70's with The Allman Brothers Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Charlie Daniels Band, etc. with The Capricorn Records stable of bands.

Check out his last recording efforts "GHOST TRAIN FROM GEORGIA" availible through CD UNIVERSE. AMAZON!!!

Dru, we miss you - "PICKING THE BLUES"..

  • Thanks, Mr B. Dru: great, inimitable, voice...great songwriter & 1 of the 5 best guitarists ever. Had the pleasure of chatting w/ him in Miami in '75. Wish to God there was some original Grinderswitch footage avail. I love the cd repeat button & my all-time record for listening to 1 song is 17 days. From a live cd boot of 'How The West Was Won'...Dru perfect & bringing out the best in Stephen & Larry. If you've got any GS, pls upload it. 100 yrs from now, Dru's greatness will be acknowledged.

  • Dru's solo on the Grinderswitch song Open Road, is for me, the essence of Southern Rock. I said as much on a southern rock discussion board once, and low and behold Dru Lombar replied to me. We had a bit of a back and forth and he told me about Dr. Hector. Very sad to hear of his death.

  • Very cool to see this! My dad is Rick Johnson on the sax. I saw Dr Hector many, many times as a kid.

  • I remember Dru and Jerry from a long time ago.Dr Hector was a great band.
