  • vosotros y ustedes son distintos. uno es para tutear a la gente y otro para tratar de usted. ambos son plurales. en francés no hay diferencia al plural pero sí que hay al singular (entre tu y vous).

vosotros and ustedes are different. the first is to call somebody "tu" and the second one is the polite way to address as "vous". both are plural. in french there is no difference in the plural form but there is one with the singular (between tu and vous)

  • this helped to understand the concept of vosotros. Thanks! =) Thanks for the comment.

  • Leila, "vosotros" is more used in Spain and "ustedes" in America. Both are correct Spanish.

  • actually vosostros is used a lot in Central America and South America, it's not usually found in Mexican spanish tho, I wonder why.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Il n'est pas americain, il est arabien, je pense.

  • best way to know french is to actualy go to a francophone contry. I suggest Quebec(province of canada) for american because its cheap and its a bilingual contry. Most of Us(quebecers) know english well so we can easely teach you. Also if you know spanish/portugease or italien its a very good since its the same sentence structure.

  • you're mean. :)

  • aprende espanhol my recomendation!

  • I think you are referring to "vos" as opposed to "vosotros." "Vos" is used in those areas you mentioned and in a small part of Mexico as well. It is used instead of "tú", so it is a 2nd person, singular subject pronoun as opposed to a 2nd person, PLURAL pronoun (i.e., vosotros).

  • no, both of yall are idiots. i wasn't referring to the formality of the word, but of the significance of it.

  • oh yeah I guess so, I should have known that since Im spanish but I was born in mexico so I dont talk like that so yeah.
