They'll get covered in dirt and salt and need continuous cleaning.

Now why would you need lights on the side.

@EmergencyVehiclesAu
Intersections and also for when the are running down the highway and want to be seen from the sides.

@owlemt I dont understand why you would need it on intersections, I Geuss maybe at night when the black suburban is already in the intersection but during the day on a approach to said intersection, the suburban could see cars at the intersection and the cars already there could see the front of the suburban, I suppose it looks cool and if there is a really slim chance that the lights need to be used i suppose its a +

@EmergencyVehiclesAu
I normally would only put the side lights in the rear side windows but this customer really wanted to light the vehicle up. The use the side lights more for lane change on the Highway than anything else......

Interesting choice of placement in the wheel wells but before reading any comments on this one I was already thinking how quickly they might become far less effective from dirt and grime thus requiring constant cleaning. Also to consider is accelerated pitting and fogging of the lenses. I would be interested in seeing a comment regarding this concern after an extended period of use in the field in real conditions say after six months to one year. Still a clever idea!

@dkpd1878 Just had this vehicle back in the shop for unrelated problem and all of the lighting in the wheel wells were in the same condition as when the video was taken a year ago. These LED's do not have lenses on them so there is no fogging or pitting. Just sprayed off when washed and they still look and perform like new. Will update every time I see these vehicle back in the shop...
