(Part 2) The first Republican Gubernatorial Debate for the 2010 election cycle at the Grand Hotel Theatre on Mackinac Island. The debate was sponsored by the Michigan Taxpayers Alliance (www.mitaxpayers.org) and included moderator L. Brooks Patterson, panelists John Fund (columnist for the Wall Street Journal), Stephen Henderson (editorial page editor of the Detroit Free Press), and Kathy Hoekstra of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. The candidates included Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard, Attorney General Mike Cox, state Sen. Tom George, U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra and Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder.

Lower taxes, lower govt spending, cap unsustainable pension obligations, eliminate subsidies, grants, tax credits and anti-competitive regs and oversight. Privatize education, housing and deregulate land use to allow for new industry and development. NO PRIVATE/PUBLIC Partnerships!
