The Iranian government and the Internet
In the wake of the 2009 Iranian presidential election,many people had hope of the so called "Twitter Revolution". They thought that somehow the internet could fuel political change in Iran However, since then, Iran has been using the internet in a much more sophisticated way, ranging from its own Twitter accounts stepping up filtration efforts. In the talk, Cyrus Farivar will look back at the origins of the Iranian internet and explore its evolution over the last 20 years.
