This simple translation made me feel like a moron. First I left that dash out of the word ビル which turned my BEER into a BUILDING. Then I left in a small "つ" in the word 当てて which gives the word a slight mispronunciation and is just plain wrong. It is one of the things that foreigners have a tendency to screw up. We tend to superfluously include or mistakenly exclude the "つ". Lastly, I realized that the actual English translation of in the opening was a bit off and although conversationally "OK" was not a literal translation and might be confusing to learners. So I changed that. I'm on vacation, fried by the sun and jet-lagged but I can't make these kinds of mistakes if I truly expect to be of use to you guys watching these vids! Thus, I kick myself in the butt a few times and take down the video and reupload it correctly. Thanks to all of you for your patience.

(Had to take down the original because I realized -- thanks in part to one eagle eyed viewer (Thanks, JamieDanger!) -- that I had left out a dash! I hope that these lesson can be useful for a long time so even teensy mistakes like that are important! A missing dash can actually change the meaning of the word!

  • Nobody is disagreeing with you. But it really depends on you and your situation and goals.

  • This is really hard, even if you're intermediate at Japanese. I think writing is more important than speaking, and it's better usage of your time, if you can't understand this that well. Of course, this is just my opinion, that writing and reading should come before speaking.

  • You should do a video on getting a haircut in Japan when you get back. Its one thing I will be freaking out about and I will probably chicken out and just get it all shaved off. Things like expressions they use, prices, barber or stylest or something.

  • gimme-a-J-lesson....this is the hardest. I'm 23...don't go to college...work seven days a week...and when I get home I got time to eat, workout, eat again, work on my music, read, watch some tv, get on the net to practice my j-lessons before bed. I have done my vocab homework...watched the video like six times. and....This has been very hard...so many questions...I still really cant know for sure what you said, but I am continuing to learn a lot. Thanks for your dedication.

  • anyway, good idea about this and great job!

  • hey,

good idea for the homework, i do this for practice alot, i search for something that's not too over my head and i translate it, however, this one was suprisingly easy! i might make a video with my answers victor, but i might not considering the fact that alot of people will CHEAT!
