FireDome technology makes heating with wood easier than ever while providing the longest burn times in the industry. This non-catalytic system produces both primary and secondary combustion, which provides maximum heat and makes our stoves extremely efficient. Primary air enters the bottom air chamber and is regulated by the air slide, then travels upward through channels on either side of the door. Through the manifold above the door, a sheet of air is directed into the firebox between the glass and the wood, keeping the glass clean while providing oxygen for burning. This is known as primary combustion. While this is happening, secondary air enters the FireDome in the rear of the stove. This provides oxygen for complete re-burning of the flue gases, this is called secondary combustion. Harman's FireDome technology makes heating with wood easy by completely burning the wood, smoke and exhaust. This results in long burn times, maximum heat, less maintenance and fewer trips to the wood pile.
