Dedicate this song to all of you......and someone we have lost.

Nineteen Lyric:

Nineteen
The number on his back, Voted captain of his high school football team
Took us all the way to state, got a scholarship to play down in Tennessee
He could catch, he could fall, he could run, he could go like youve never seen, Nineteen

But on the day those twin towers came down his whole world turned around
He told em all, ya'll I cant play ball theres a war on now
So he marched right in with a few good men, and joined the marines
At Nineteen

Well hes the boy next door, might have carried your bags at the grocery store
Hes somebodys son, in a hole with a gun, in a foreign land
Try in to hold on to his American dream
Nineteen

Theres a sniper out there in the dark somewhere, and a solider down
Ya we need someone who can duck and run to get him out some how
Want one good man to raise his hand, and take one for the team
Well how bout you Nineteen

Well hes the boy next door, he used to carry your bags at the grocery store
Hes somebodys son, in a hole with a gun, in a foreign land
Try in to hold on to his American dream
Nineteen

Brought him home today with a big parade down on main street
Got a purple heart and a silver star, solider gave a speech
Said he could catch, he could fall, he could run, hes the one who rescued me
He said he could have played for Tennessee
He was Nineteen
He was only Nineteen

  • This is why Taylor won American Idol. He has a very powerful voice and an incredible message. This is not for the United States alone, but all allied solders who lost their lives at such young ages for our freedom.

  • shane owens wrote this song for his grandfather. i was there when he wrote it.

  • I served at Brooke Army Medical Center where many of the most severely injured were sent , and will always remember Jonathan Benson, a young Marine who lost a valiant fight for his life. His courage, strength, dignity affected everyone who knew, worked and served to save him. This song could have been written for him.

  • Powerful message with just the one picture. It can cover all wars. The song really resonates today. Thank you. Sometimes the simplest songs are the best.
