This wave of powerful female superheroes in cartoon shows eventually resulted in the most awesome cartoon superheroine of the modern era: Toph Bei Fong from "Avatar".

Don't forget DuckTales, Gummi Bears, Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they had some pretty good themes, too.
In fact, most 80s shows had better themes (and more elaborate intros) when compared to modern shows. Modern shows have pretty bland themes and half-assed intros.
