Thanks for all the comments. We are now putting theses bottle bricks into a wall in our guest house. Looking really cool. As for the energy consumption of using a torch, yes it does take some propane. Way less energy in the long run when compared to what it takes to make clay bricks for example. One thing we did on a another section of wall avoided cutting them all together. We used baby food jars - they were joined mouth to mouth with a little silicone then put directly into the cob.
Neat trick, but after cutting it, wouldn't it be possible to just knock it off somehow without the flame? Depending on how many botlles one plans on cutting, that's quite some methane burning.
this is great. so much better than using a grinding wheel and sending all that glass dust into the air. I see so many vids of people doing that and not wearing a mask... scary.
Hey Tom, Where did you get the blue glass bottle? I would love to get some and crush and tumble to put in the stucco walls of my straw bale house. Keep us posted I'd love to run up and see your place when you'r e finished. We start the straw bale next week just 50 miles south of Saskatoon.

Hi Thomas!
How do you spell the name of the bottle cutter (Ephraim?) and do you have an address? Very calm & collected vid. Thanks.
